Trigger happy
Yeah well, not quite. Let me elaborate. If you've been following my "Currently Reading" section, you might have noticed that I like to read books involving web and programming in general. Most of the books I've bought turned out to be very good, and I tend to write short and concise reviews for them (well not all of them, so don't snap any quick judgements about the books I didn't write reviews). But something always bugs me when I'm just about to place an order. Will this book be what I...

Book Review: Essential PHP Security
We've all written unsecure code. Then tried to circumvent our weak security measures. It made us better programmers, and made us sleep better knowing our applications were safe. But there is just so far your imagination can go, while thinking up ways to get inside your perfectly secure system. 8 chapters. 30 exploits. Impossibly small Essential PHP Security by Chris Shiflett brings you those ideas in a book that looks rather, well small. We've all gotten used to those big, heavy, shelf...

Book Review: CSS Mastery
You might have noticed that I keep a farely up to date list of what I'm currently reading, and as you might have guessed, I like to read quite a bit. That is why this might become a constant section on this page. OK enought chatter, lets get down to business. CSS Mastery, written by Andy Budd of Clearleft fame, is by far one of the best CSS books I've recently had the pleasure of reading. Written for the bit more savvy web developers, wich means the author does not beat about the bush and...

Another year has come and gone
It's been a big year for me. I got featured on a number of sites, got everything done in time for the CSS Reboot Fall and got a job at Dhimahi. I even got around to start watching Futurama, and haven't stopped since :) This little blog wannabe has gotten quite a few visitors, topping out at 6118 in November (mostly due to CSS Reboot) and now has a steady flow of feed readers, even if I'm not writing much these days. So what's in store for this little playground of mine in 2006 Well a new...

Brain food
I tend to have my favourite books somewhere close to my workplace, so that I may grab them whenever I get stuck. Currently the pile is kinda small, but more books are already on the way :) I'm waiting for these two books to arrive: Cascading Style Sheets: The Definitive Guide, 2e written by Eric Meyer Designign With Web Standards written by Jeffrey Zeldman Can't wait to dig in :) And cause I consider books to be brain food, tell me what books you've got within your reach at all times.

New book, new design...
I took klaut's advice and got my hands on the book she recomended. Web Standards Solutions: The Markup and Style Handbook writen by Danc Cederholm. I finally realised how many things I was doing wrong. So to begin with, I have redone the entire site with the mentioned book in my hand :) I have checked all of the sites for XHTML W3C compliancy and they all came back valid. I also decided to make the site a bit more accesible by using the Phark Method for image replacement. /* The Phark...

The Zen of CSS, but Don't Make Me Think
What? No, you read it right :) The Zen of CSS design, but Don't Make Me Think. The latest acquisitions in my book archive. And I must say that I'm one happy camper, to say the least. while($content->fresh()) { echo 'Yeeehaw :)'; }OK, I might be overwhelmed, but I truly have learned quite a bit from these two.
