My dictionary is called Google

As you might have noticed, english is not my native language. I know it shows, so don't even try to make it easier on me :) So in order to get the spelling right I use a dictionary (a computer one, don't worry :)). Most of the time I can remember the words I'm looking for, I just can't get the spelling right. In comes Google and It's ability to correct your search when you've made a mess of things. I love that 'did you mean' phrase google uses to suggest that you might have misspelled something. It has come so far, that most of the time I don't even use a dictionary anymore, just google :) That led me to seek out more mysterious ways google can make your (and my) life a little bit easier.

Let's see what this baby can do

My first stop was the Google search features page and their advance search help page. After running through the features I started to test to see what I can come up with.

Well I find calculator a sure bliss. Not only because it can calculate obscenely large numbers in a matter of microseconds, but because it can convert just about anything. Like how many teaspoons are there in a gallon? Can't remember a specific constant? Easy as pi.

Can't remember the conversion rate for a currency? No problem, I just don't know how up to date some of this conversions are for some foregin currencies. Otherwise a very nice feature.

Don't know what your buddies are talking about? Are you one of those who just can't get the hang of the tech lingo? Use define. It works pretty damn good (damn, I'm begining to sound like one of those really bad commercials :))

There are tons of features left, but I'll probably be using just the ones mentioned above. Mostly because so many are not meant for a world wide audience but for more specific regions. Perhaps in the near future I too could harnest the whole power of Google search.

Pretty soon you'll need Google just to search Google!
